Classic & Collector Car Insurance

Updated: May 16

Your car is unique. Not all insurance coverage is the same, either. Do you have the right coverage?

Classic car values fluctuate, while a typical auto insurance policy may only pay the "Actual Cash Value (ACV)". The market value of your '63 Chevy II Nova convertible may be very different from the ACV, which "simply" reflects an old car with lots of mileage.

Likewise, your '01 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish or '96 Porsche 911 GT2 probably don't see many miles on the road. Towing, if ever needed, is going to require a flatbed and lots of TLC. The insurance needed is very different from the policy for your daily driver.

What type of vehicles qualify for this type of coverage?

We protect all kinds of classic cars, boats, trucks, motorcycles, and more modern collectible vehicles. We also protect race cars, tractors, military vehicles, and retired commercial vehicles. Basically, if it isn't a vehicle you drive for your everyday transport, Hagerty, Grundy, Chubb and others have a specialty policy for it. Furthermore, state rules for classics and antiques differ, so many vehicles may be eligible for reduced rates based solely on their age. For example, in Massachusetts, any vehicle older than 25 years may be eligible.
