Auto Insurance Discounts - Are You Eligible?

Updated: May 16

Saving significantly on auto insurance begins by partnering with Acacia Insurance. It's the first step in helping to make the unexpected uneventful. In addition to offering insurance across New England and the U.S., we represent the companies that insure 80% of the vehicles in Massachusetts. That gives us access to dozens of innovative discounts. We’ll review your insurance portfolio and work to identify additional savings opportunities using our exclusive four-step, 15-minute Acacia Insurance Refresh(SM).

Your insurance portfolio, not just your car insurance, may entitle you to a wide variety of credits and discounts.

These are some common tools for saving, and it's a long list.

  • Save with an anti-theft discount. In many cases, we will automatically apply this based on your vehicles VIN.

  • Airbags and safety device discounts will also be automatically applied based on the year, make and model of your car, based on the VIN.

  • Are you an experienced driver? Many states offer credits and discounts to drivers age 65 or older.

  • Claim free? If you are a good driver, that credit will also be automatically applied based on your driving history.

  • "Bundling" policies is one of the most effective way to reduce rates by 20% or more. We'll consider this when making any recommendation.

  • Do you have teens or college students in your family? They may be eligible for the Good Student and/or Student Away at School discounts.

  • Multiple cars, just like multiple drivers, are considered a diversifier of risk. You may automatically receive a discount just for listing more than one car or driver on your policy.

  • Have a short—or nonexistent—commute? Low mileage discounts may apply if you drive 10k miles annually or less.

  • Hybrid and electric vehicles may be eligible for preferred discounts which will be automatically applied.

  • Advanced Driver Training and other safety courses trigger various credits and discounts, some quite significant for younger operators.

  • Telematics devices, many of which are simply "apps" loaded on to your phone, further reduce rates. Safe driving habits may trigger lower rates.

  • Loyalty and renewal credits are automatically applied upon renewal, and may help offset inflation.
